According to the official twitter page for the manga Himouto! Umaru-chan the series will be receiving an original anime DVD included within the 10th compilation volume. This compilation volume will be available (in Japan) in January of 2017 and will run you around 3,400 yen. The tweet also mentions that the original staff and cast will be returning for this original anime DVD.
For those who are unfamiliar with Himouto! Umaru-chan, it originally started as a manga back in 2013 and is written by Sankaku Head. As of Friday, the 9th compilation volume will be available with the tenth to arrive in January (but you already knew that). The manga has sparked an anime the originally debuted during the summer 2015 anime season and had a grand total of 12 episodes.
The story revolves around a girl named Umaru. On the outside, Umaru-Chan is attractive, very well behaved, and a stellar student. However, this paragon of society is just an act Umaru drops the moment she gets home. Umaru’s true self is a lazy comic book reading, video game playing brat and is entirely dependent on her older brother Taihei. The story follows Umaru as she tries to balances the life she’s wants to live and the image she sells to society.
